Experience: LIV WeHo: My Go -To for Healing, Longevity, and an instant Glow-Up
When I think about wellness, it’s not just about feeling good today - it’s about investing in the long game. I want to thrive, live longer, and be at my best mentally, physically, and emotionally. Naturally - it is really hard for me to relax and force myself to carve out time for this kind of self care.
This past year taught me how vital that mindset is. After a car accident on Cyber Monday 2023 left me with a concussion, I had to focus on healing from the inside out. That’s how I started frequenting LIV WeHo Infrared Sauna a little slice of heaven right in the heart of West Hollywood. A perfect escape from the noise - a moment to collect yourself and breathe. I realize I don't do it enough.
LIV makes self-care feel effortless and private, which is rare in LA. You’re in and out without the overwhelming vibe of a crowded spa. Whether you want to watch Netflix, meditate, or just sit in peace, you can customize your experience. An added bonus for someone like me, who never stops - the iPhone overheats in the infrared sauna after awhile - so I actually put my phone away and tune the world out - which feels like a luxury.
LIV isn’t your typical wellness spot - it's a cozy, female owned/gender neutral space. It’s rustic chic, intimate, and has this inviting - boutique vibe. There’s no big waiting room, no loud chatter - just clean, calming spaces designed to help you decompress. You’ll notice the thoughtful little touches, like a note wishing you a "good day", or how everything is perfectly maintained. It’s a female-owned business (shoutout to Felicia Terwilliger, the brilliant founder), and it feels like every detail was crafted to make you feel cared for.
I’ve been using LIV WeHo’s infrared saunas as part of my wellness routine throughout the past year, and the benefits are real. Infrared heat penetrates deep into your body, promoting detoxification, blood cirulation, better sleep and stress relief (I suffer from terrible insomnia sometimes - stress is real), skin elasticity (love anything that improves my skin), improved heart rate, inflammation fighting. Heaven?! I even take joy when the sweat starts to roll down my body - and that's a 1st. I just know it's working it's magic.
On the cognitive side, infrared therapy has been shown to improve mental clarity, which has been a big focus for me since my accident - and inflammation in my brain. Brain fog and sudden short term memory loss are terrifying. Life altering experiences like that can reshape the perspective profoundly. What are we without our health, truly.
After 45 minutes in the sauna (which is torture for me, but euphoric), I always feel lighter, calmer, and more clear-headed. I sweat in places I didn't even know a body could sweat before. I’ve also noticed how it clears out the skin - it’s like a poreless, radiant filter but IRL. Before I step in, I spray my Mile High Ultra-Hydrating Mist (a gem from my brand, Vie En Rose) and pat on Love Potion Beauty Oil. The heat helps these products absorb deeper, leaving my skin hydrated and healthy. My products mixed with the anti-inflammatories from the sauna make me feel calmed and de-puffed from the inside out.
We all want to live longer and feel amazing while doing it, right? That’s what LIV is all about. The saunas stimulate collagen production, support a healthy gut, promote cognitive health, and help your body detox. It’s not just a quick fix - it’s an investment in longterm wellness.
And then there’s the cold plunge. Look, I’m not a fan of the cold (seriously, I hate it), but there’s something transformative about it. Cold plunging wakes up your entire system, reduces inflammation, and makes you feel "alive". It's totally miserable getting in, but once you do. It’s like a mental reset button. I couldn’t get all the way in at first, but after some coaxing (and shouting, “Mommy tell me I’m a bad b**tch!” at my mom for moral support), yes the woman working there heard that when I took my mom in during Thanksigiving week - I did it (for 15 seconds). It’s addictive in the best way. I felt like I could take on the world.
And the cleanliness? Impeccable. The space is designed with intention - from the calming colors to the spa - like Vitamin C showers - I LOVE EXTA SPECIAL TOUCHES LIKE THIS! It’s functional, stylish, and makes you want to come back again and again.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, looking to improve your overall health, or just want to glow from the inside out, LIV WeHo has something for you. It’s not just about healing or detoxing - it’s about creating habits that promote longevity and vitality. The more I learn about cognitive health and biohacking the more intrigued I get.
So, if you’re ready to prioritize your health, glow a little brighter, improve mental clarity, detox your skin/body, and maybe even live a little longer, give LIV WeHo a try. Spray on some Vie En Rose: Mile High Mist, rub on some Love potion Beauty Oil (they have it in the back for a special experiences off the menu right now... on the menu soon...) step into that sauna, let go of all the heaviness from your day, and take an exhale. Trust me, your future self will thank you.
LIV Weho is an absolute YES from me!
